YOUR DAY TO DAY LIFE
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facility and Equipment Maintenance Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing laboratory equipment and facilities maintenance, co-managing our suppliers, and leading projects related to facility upgrades and equipment. Your main responsibilities are:
Facility Management : Ensure the proper functioning and upkeep of (laboratory) facilities, addressing any issues promptly to maintain a safe and efficient working environment, either in-house or by coordinating with technical relations.
Equipment Maintenance:
– Oversee the repair, maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
– Determine the source of technical problems and take appropriate action to find a workable solution.
– Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality services.
Procurement : Purchase lab devices (media, furniture…) and take over the procurement function temporarily when the procurement officer is absent.
Compliance and Safety : Ensure all equipment and facilities meet regulatory requirements and safety standards, conducting regular inspections and audits.
Budget Management : Manage budgets for equipment maintenance and supplier-related projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Continuous Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
YOUR PROFILE
You:
Preferably have a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and at least 2 years of experience in supplier management, equipment maintenance, preferably in a laboratory or technical environment.
Developed strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of laboratory equipment and facilities is a pro
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Organized and able to manage multiple priorities.
Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of responsibility.
Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Speak Dutch and English
In addition to a highly stimulating position in a pleasant working environment, you can expect the following when you fill the vacant position of Facility and Equipment Maintenance Officer :
A full-time gross salary starting from 3 300€ per month, depending on professional experience
A holiday allowance equal to 8% of the annual gross salary
A full-time position of 40 hours per week
The possibility to work from home two days a week with a full-time job
An advantageous pension scheme
A one-year employment contract, with the intention of moving to permanent employment thereafter
27 vacation days per year with a full-time job
A fixed travel allowance of up to a maximum of €140 net per month for a full-time job
